0045 - Can I Break Something Else? This is based on a conversation I had at Staples in the UK. It was my first time working in retail, and with my only knowledge of the business coming from sitcoms and dramas and the like, I honestly thought that "You break it, you pay for it" applied just as much to the staff as it did to the customers. So perhaps it's unsurprising that I was worried when I broke something for the first time at work, and so relieved when I learned it would just be written off as a loss that the "Can I break something else?" line came out. |
