News, Views and Just Plain Schmooze...

Monday 1 March 2010

The site's getting really close to 4,000 visits now... with the USA over 2,100, and the UK at 999! (I wrote this note in the wee small hours of Saturday morning, so it'll be over 1,000 by Monday, all being well!). Also, El Salvador is the 72nd country to visit!

Today, I'd like to give a shout out to Bridgett Spicer, a very talented web comic artist and painter from California who creates an excellent comic called Squid Row. Of course, if there's anyone who happens to read both this website and the Monterey County Herald (you never know!), then I'm telling you something you already know! I'm so thrilled for Bridgett that they took her comic! Oh, although I've included the link for the comic, you might want to visit this link first, because that's where the first Squid Row strip is located (at least it was at the time of writing). You can find out still more about Bridgett here.

Over 3,600 views now... and just two states of the USA to go! So if you know anyone living in New Mexico or Wyoming, get them to have a look at the comic! :)

You know, it's taken me a really long time to realise it, but while I was thinking about what to draw for today's comic, I realised that there are people who come back to the site to keep updated with the latest outpourings from my twisted brain. Which means... I have fans! And right after that thought, I had the thought that I should have noticed this earlier. I know, it sounds really stupid to have such an odd, delayed thought process, but there you go. Sometimes, things trickle through the brain like coffee in a percolator, and other times, they zip through like you need to take a Mental Imodium afterwards (ew).

And yes, at last - I have the Internet! Took some calls to AT&T to get it all set up, but it's here! Unless you choose to sit outside twice a day for about thirty minutes at a time (or as long as you can stand) in the cold of winter and heat of summer (and you're not allowed bug repellent, just to get the proper experience), then you have no idea how much this means to me! Let's just say: a lot...

All being well - provided the connection goes okay - I should finally have the Internet in my room this coming Wednesday! *bounce* *bounce* *bounce*... No more having to traipse to the library... no more sitting outside in the cold/heat (depending on the season, naturally) so that I can check emails and upload the comics! Am I happy about this? Whatever gave you that idea? ;)

Monday 8 February 2010

Seventy-one countries now - the latest being Belgium and Bangladesh! Also, the site's coming up on 3,500 visits... woohoo!
