0214 - Groundhog Day
Notes on today's comic (2 Feb 2011):
I would just like it known, here and now, that the real me wouldn't do anything so nasty to an animal. Besides, according to the Wikipedia article on Punxsutawney Phil, the great groundhog prognosticator of Pennsylvania, he's only been right 39% of the time.
That said... Please, Phil, don't see your shadow!
So, time to wait for news from Phil's home in Gobbler's Knob (yes, British readers with filthy minds, I know... *snigger*)
UPDATE: Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow today (neither did Chuckles VII - I didn't know there was an official groundhog prognosticator in Connecticut!), so that means a prediction of an early spring... We'll be watching, guys...

I'd like to take the opportunity to say a huge
THANK YOU!
...to my brother, Patrick Johnson! When my laptop died, he very kindly said that he would send me - free, gratis and for nothing - his old Tablet PC that he was no longer using; he added that it could come in handy for drawing the strips... The thing is awesome, and I'm so happy with it! Thank you so much Patrick! (Now I'll have to up my game to do the tablet justice...)

I'm back! Sorry for being away for two weeks, but the ribs were really bothering me the first week, and I still wasn't sure by the time the second week came along. But, I'm back now!
Since I've been away, there's been a visitor from Zambia, making 95 countries!

Happy New Year! I forgot to mention it, but Latvia has joined the list of visiting countries... And, within the last few days, there's been a visitor from Senegal, too! That brings the country count up to 94, and the visitor count over 8,100 :)

TWO YEARS! I'm amazed I've been able to do the strip for this long... Admittedly, there have been a few downtimes, but in terms of quantity, I've still managed to do so many that I'm only three short of two per week for two years (208), so I'm pretty happy with what I've managed to do. Thanks to everyone who has visited since 2008, and a special thank-you to those of you who keep coming back! It's been hard at times - especially when I think I've not got anything I can use - but I'm enjoying it!
When I sent a copy of Monday's strip to my lovely web-comic-artist friend Bridgett Spicer (you really should check out Squid Row if you haven't done so already), she said it put her in mind of the "Keep Calm And Carry On" poster, created by the UK Government in 1939 and used to very popular effect since 2000. So, I decided to put one together, and decided to post it to my Flickr stream!
